Full Job Description

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity we provide gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our energy network connects the nation, so it's essential that it's continually evolving, advancing, and improving.

As Business Performance Analyst (Power BI Developer) you'll develop the Power BI reporting suite, linking to Power Apps and integrating with data warehouses and AI. This will also include the development and management of an integrated Performance Management System.

With an understanding of how our business operates, you'll use advanced data analytics skills to develop Power BI insight that presents information in the most dynamic and meaningful way, ensuring complex information is easily understood and appropriate to the audience to inform decision-making by the NGET Executive and other senior stakeholders.

You'll continually challenge the wider business on reporting measures and the design and management of the performance system so that it remains fit for purpose. You'll collaborate with other teams as a Power BI Subject Matter Expert to improve any insight they have developed.

This role is based out of our offices in Warwick, for 2 days per week and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

With advanced data analysis skills, you'll be an expert in developing Power BI dashboards, including writing custom DAX functions. You'll need practical experience in Power Apps, Power Platform, Power FX (Power Platform coding language), and SQL Querying.

Experience of working in database systems, including knowledge of data warehousing technologies and tools, such as ETL (extract, transfer, load) tools, SQL databases and data modelling techniques, is essential, as is the ability to integrate data warehouses with Power BI.

In addition, you'll have strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of business reporting.

At National Grid, we work towards the highest standards in everything we do, including how we support, value and develop our people. Our aim is to encourage and support employees to thrive and be the best they can be. We celebrate the difference people can bring into our organisation, and welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds, and offer flexible and tailored support, at home and in the office.
