We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist / Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the Adult Community Eating Disorder (ACED) team in Oxford. We are passionate about what we do and are looking for someone who can join an 'up and coming' community team which is in the process of developing a new service model to address the needs of the people of Oxfordshire in the 21st century. We have good links with colleagues in the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Services as well as other Adult Community Eating Disorder services across the Thames Valley region. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills which will enable them to thrive within a multi-disciplinary team context and in working with this complex patient group and their families.

The ACED team is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Therapists, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Dietitians, Social Worker, Assistant Psychologists, Community Support Workers and team Administrators. The service provides an integrated formulation-based model tailored to the needs of adults with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder as well as those with comorbid mental health problems and their carers.

The main component of the role will be in providing high quality specialist CBT-ED (both on a 1-1 and in group format) to patients and their carers/families who are referred to the eating disorder service. There will be opportunities to develop skills by working with other colleagues as appropriate.

The post holder will be required to offer supervision to trainee and assistant psychologists and offer advice and consultation, to the multi-disciplinary team. Experience of working within the field of eating disorders would be extremely advantageous, however the service will consider applicants with a genuine interest in the client group and those who are willing to undertake a comprehensive induction and training and show a commitment to the development of the service.
