Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Designer to join the Design team on a fixed term basis.
As a Digital Designer at UKTV you will be instrumental in the creation of design elements, motion graphics & branding for various campaigns and promotions for paid advertising for our VOD service, UKTV Play.

You will be responsible for creating static content that works to support performance marketing, bringing to life the breadth of content available on our platform and drive subscriptions and viewing.
In this role you will get to:

  • Responsible for creating creative solutions for our VOD service that promote our content and drives sign ups and repeat views engaging with our multiple audiences

  • The creation of design elements & motion graphics for our digital paid media creative content that will run on Meta, TikTok, Google, Youtube and Connected TV platforms like Amazon & Samsung

  • Work in creative partnership with the wider UKTV Creative team to ensure that all the design elements and priority campaigns are delivered as part of the Performance marketing brief

  • Work closely with the marketing team to input knowledge from previous campaigns to drive improved engagement and effectiveness in future campaigns

  • Create creative tactics that drive engagement with our VOD service

  • Work with media owners including Meta, TikTok, Youtube, Google and TV partners like Amazon & Samsung to bring best practice into each format and look at innovative ways to use their platforms to deliver our campaign objectives., The creation of design elements & motion graphics for our VOD service and performance marketing output

  • Work in creative partnership with the wider UKTV Creative team to ensure that all the design elements and priority campaigns are delivered to brief and on time

  • Work on a variety of out of home, including but not limited to, billboards, transvision, D6 screens and animated escalator panels

  • Responsible for design output of our digital paid media creative including long and short-form content that will run on Meta, TikTok, Google, Youtube and Connected TV platforms like Amazon & Samsung

  • Producing a wide variety of digital assets that we can test and learn from

  • Reporting to the Head of Design, liaising with creatives, ensuring that all work is delivered on brief and adheres to the brand guidelines but at the same time stands out and engages the target audience

  • Collaborate with our agency partners to ensure joined up thinking across different advertising platforms

  • Demonstrates an understanding of our VOD platform, content, target consumers, and growth strategies; ensuring that creative work fits the task in hand

  • Proactively seeks to optimise work, responding to campaign performance and iterating creative to drive highest impact

  • To ensure that all creative work is underpinned by a fertile, and strategically relevant creative idea

  • Is well organised and successfully multitasks several projects, prioritising accordingly across several brands

  • Takes the initiative to propose & 'own' solutions, involving & aligning other stakeholders in a timely fashion

  • Maintain a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy, taking the initiative and operating independently against agreed objectives, involving stakeholders accordingly.

  • Foster inter-departmental collaboration, inspiring trust and confidence, to deliver world class social creative.

    A passion for design/motion graphics and an understating of how to execute great ideas with a portfolio of work that demonstrates this. (Please include a website or a portfolio of creative work)

  • A thorough understanding of the TVand Digital industry (and the competitor landscape, with deep product knowledge - Digital marketing, on-air promotions, and creative processes in general

  • Good knowledge of the creative development & production process; on & off air

  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all Adobe software. These must include, but not be limited to, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

  • Good knowledge and understanding of 3D platforms and applications. This could include Cinema 4D and its various plug ins

  • Exceptional design skills and attention to detail, with the necessary experience to creatively work across all media (on air, off air, design & branding)

  • A team player that is happy to share ideas, take constructive feedback from teammates and take on additional workload when required

  • An excellent communicator and presenter with a proven ability to inspire trust and confidence, and influence up to a senior level, both internally & externally

  • A brilliant collaborator who is excellent at taking and implementing feedback

  • Drive & passion to creatively stand out from the crowd and a refusal to accept work that is mediocre


  • Who you are:

  • Experience creating creative that creates customer action (e.g. sign-up or visit a platform)

  • Experience in creating content for a variety of paid digital media platforms

  • Well organised and able to successfully juggle multiple projects, prioritising accordingly

  • Build productive working relationships with internal creative teams & external agencies, liaising constructively with stakeholders to get buy-in to design elements.

  • Foster inter-departmental collaboration, inspiring trust and confidence to deliver world class creative work

  • Maintain a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy

  • Understanding of production techniques / capabilities / costs to ensue work presented is achievable within campaign budget

  • Proactively respond to performance marketing, identifying issues & opportunities that helps to driving change

  • Ensure that UKTV Creative is a key enabler in realising key business, brand, and marketing objectives.

  • Constantly seek new creative horizons and strive to maximise creative impact & efficacy
