You'll take up this exciting opportunity to contribute to key activities undertaken by our Economics and Regulation team. This includes power and carbon analysis, corporate risk capture and reporting, regulatory analysis, pricing and the setting of charges.
Previous water or other utilities experience would be useful but not essential. You're interested in economics and educated to degree level or similar, preferably numerical in nature i.e. mathematics or economics.
This role will engage in a number of key work streams which includes corporate risk management to ensure risks are captured, controlled and reported accurately. We regularly review our charges and you'll provide the economic research and analysis to support these activities. This role will collaborate with our regulatory accountants to provide assistance and input to our regulatory reporting framework. A growing area of focus within the water industry is understanding our power and carbon impact. This position will provide analytical support and insight to better understand our performance and assist decision-making.

You'll work alongside key stakeholders to support the design and implementation of process improvements in how our business operates and the services we provide to customers.   • What will you mainly be responsible for delivering?
  • You'll undertake analysis - the role involves large volumes of data, and skill is required to distil and present pertinent findings.

  • You'll work across multiple and evolving areas, which requires ability to switch and focus as required

  • Business process improvement - provide distinct task-based outputs, working under direction to support the design and implementation of process improvements and efficiencies to business operations and services

  • You'll get involved with a range of projects such as: corporate risk capture and reporting, annual charging, regulatory accounting, energy reporting and carbon reporting., It is necessary for you to have the legal right to work in the UK when you begin employment with South East Water.

    You'll preferably have a degree or equivalent qualification (numerical in nature i.e. mathematics or economics). Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

  • Methodical and analytical in your approach to solving problems.

  • IT literate - good skill across a range of applications including Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel / Word)
