Experience in 16-19 education

Local employers or members of local community groups

Roles in central or local government Knowledge of HR

Understanding of legal issues including employment law

Background in Estates Management / Project Management

Environmental and Social Corporate Governance

Leyton Sixth Form College offers a wide range of A level and vocational courses to approximately 2,300 full-time 16-19 year old students. We strive to provide high quality education and support to our students in fulfilling their academic potential and becoming thinking, questioning and caring members of society. We are a diverse and vibrant college and we are proud of the success and achievements of our students and staff.

The Governing Body makes an important contribution to the life of the College, and therefore students by ensuring that we meet our strategic plan, and that the College is well run by our Senior Management Team. We aspire to outstanding governance with a focus on ensuring that our strategy meets the needs of the community that we serve.

We are keen to attract people from financial backgrounds to contribute to the Board and its Committees. A passion for education is key, as is the commitment to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Governing Body. Previous Governor experience would be useful but not a prerequisite as you will benefit from a well- supported induction and training programme.

At present the Governing Body is seeking to appoint individuals with the following, Leyton Sixth Form College is committed to the principles of Equity, Diversity and Belonging.
