Full Job Description

We're looking for a Membership Development Manager to join us on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.

The Membership Development Manager will hold primary responsibility for field recruitment and retention activities in the North West region. Their role will involve delivering a programme of events and initiatives aimed at growing our membership of doctors and medical students.

Working alongside member relations colleagues and BMA Reps, the Membership development manager will ensure there is a visible and positive presence in the North West's Trusts and Medical schools. They will actively promote the benefits of union membership to both current members and potential members. The ideal candidate will take charge of achieving field recruitment and retention targets for the region and will have a full knowledge of membership benefits and services available to our members.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in sales or field recruiting to make a difference to the lives of Doctors.

The role is a field based position and the successful candidate must live in the North West of England to attend meetings and events within the patch. Due to the travel a company car allowance is included and a a full/clean UK drivers license is required. There is an opportunity to earn bonuses based on meeting or exceeding recruitment targets.

To be successful as a Membership Development Manager you'll have:

  • Experience in sales and account management (essential)

  • Proven success in achieving sales targets and generating income (essential)

  • Good planning and prioritisation skills

  • Experience organising and running events

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Good networking and presentation skills

  • Understanding of the NHS, issues facing doctors and our role as a Trade Union (desirable)
