Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the lab of Dr Lidia Vasilieva to investigate the role of phosphorylation in RNA polymerase II transcription, RNA processing and ultimately in gene expression. Our multi-dimensional research programme integrates biochemical, structural, cellular and large-scale genetic/genomic approaches.

You will hold a PhD/DPhil or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil in a relevant subject and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within the established research programme. You will have the ability to manage your own research activities and have previous experience of contributing to publications and presentations. The ability to contribute to ideas for new research projects and research income generation is essential as is having excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in performing biochemical assays and experience of actively collaborating in the development of research articles for publication would be advantageous.

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the BBSRC for up to 3 years in the first instance.
The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
