Practice Development Maternity Support Worker

To provide support and supervision to Maternity Support Workers (MSW) band 2 & 3 and apprentice MSWs. Working as part of the education team.

To support clinically 0.2 WTE requirements, to be carried out across core and community areas, to offer developmental and clinical learning support to all MSW's.

You will support learning and provide some teaching in both clinical areas and within the training environment. The role will also link into local and regional workstreams supporting retention, health and wellbeing of staff.,

  • To support and work alongside the Maternity Practice development (PD) team, to include participation as faculty on training days.

  • Provide support to the PD team to record accurate training date, escalation of any non-compliance of MSW's and act accordingly to support staff to rectify this.

  • Undertake 0.2 WTE clinical support to the maternity department, it is expected that within this aspect, support will be provided across all clinical areas on a rotational basis to maintain clinical competence in all areas.
