Full Job Description

School Counsellor at Byrchall High School, Ashton-in-Makerfield

Salary: £25,170 p.a. actual salary (Full time equivalent £30,296 p.a.);

Hours: 35 hours per week over 40 weeks

Fixed period until end of July 2025 (if further funding is received an extension may be considered)

Wigan Deanery Trust wants young people in Wigan aged 11-19 to thrive not just survive in these difficult times. We are looking for a School Counsellor to work in our partner school, Byrchall High School, where you will be based. You will be passionate about young people's wellbeing and deliver therapeutic interventions to secondary students and work closely with the School's Wellbeing team and Wigan Next Generation Portfolio Lead.

You will have a Level 4 Counselling Diploma or Degree course, be a registered member of a relevant professional body with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience to apply.
