Full Job Description

To carry out all tasks to their best ability whilst adhering to safety, quality and people standards.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with H&S as a top priority in the Hierarchy of needs.

  • Control and manage the shift output off the manufacturing facility to the best of ability in order to support the supply chain to the customers.

  • Effectively minimize Down Time of machines through planned and effective die changes within a designated period.

  • Develop SMED change overs to minimize Down Time.

  • Ensure Quality is driven through the process and actively reducing Waste.

  • The setup of machines to required standards, and, maintain SQDCPE within the production area.

  • Identify issues and correct problems during production flow.

  • Maintain a good level of communication and support to the Team.

  • Correspond with Production Managers and the Quality department to identify and solve any issues linking to the machinery and related parts.

  • Investigate any Quality issues and find appropriate solutions.

  • Work alongside Maintenance and the Toolroom to prepare tools and devices.

  • Provide training for Operators so that machinery can run on all shifts.

  • To support the Engineering Team on new product introduction.

  • To support Shift Managers in delivering a successful product Launch.

    GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

  • Must be able to read and speak English.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings.

  • Understanding of work instructions.

  • Engineering Background, able to troubleshoot and rectify setup issues.

  • Able to read Measuring equipment such as Vernier Callipers and micrometres & inspection equipment.

  • Previous experience in managing people., CNC machining: 2 years (required)

  • people management: 2 years (required)

  • previous manufacturing: 2 years (required)

Due to our on-going expansion, we are currently looking for Shift CNC Technicians to join our fast paced manufacturing site in Bedwas, Caerphilly.

    Responsibilities list is not exhaustive. Full-time, permanent position at 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, rotating shifts. Salary noted is inclusive of 20% shift premium.
