Full Job Description

POSITION: SECURITY AND SERVICE OFFICER FOR STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

LOCATION: Poole

Part-time hours to cover a 365 day a year operation. Includes nights and days, Bank Holidays.

Site Description

The accommodation requires a high quality facilities management service, delivered in a customer focused manner, with the least inconvenience to the customers. In order to achieve this, you will be required to work as a part of the team in a flexible manner to facilitate the smooth running of the client's day to day business on the site.

You will be expected to work in a multitasking manner and therefore as well as developing the core skills central to your role, you will be expected and need to gain experience across a range of other duties as directed by your line manager. We expect flexible, hands on approach to deliver best value, which may involve at times working on other sites.

Security

Because of the confidential nature of the client's work and the information handled, it may be necessary to sign a secrecy document or undergo security clearance prior to commencement of employment.

Duties

. Conduct internal and external patrols of the site, checking for intruders, suspicious packages or damage.

. Complete regular site inspections and maintenance tasks, including basic repairs.

. Operate security equipment installed on the premises.

. Provide assistance in the event of incident or emergency.

. Provide a high level of customer service to both current and potential customers.

. Hold a basic understanding of sales to ensure any OOH enquiries are responded to appropriately.

. Respond to general OOH queries including sales and viewings.

. Assist customers with storage and post.

. Housekeeping duties to ensure site is presentable to customers at all times.

. To carry out additional duties as requested by management.

. Update a log book throughout shift and escalate any issues to management where necessary.

Skills

. Proficient in oral and written communications.

. Ability to deliver a high level of customer service in all tasks.

. Capable of gaining co-operation from people, diffuse aggression and provide clear reports.

. Ability to deal with intoxicated people.

. Physically fit with good customer care skills.

. Able to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly.

. An understanding of the role of support services with experience of working in a similar environment.

. Ability for manual handling.

. Able to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision.

Technical Knowledge & Training

. Awareness of Health & Safety issues and the need for safe methods of working.

. Hold a valid SIA Badge - Desirable.

. First Aid trained with a valid certificate - Desirable.

. Basic maintenance skills are preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

. Basic IT skills.
