Full Job Description

Reporting to the Finance Manager, as an Accounts Payable Administrator (operating within a team of three) you will be integral to the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of purchase ledger transactions, working to strict deadlines whilst remaining accurate and efficient.

Your duties will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Processing a high volume of purchase invoices

  • Requesting and reviewing supplier statements

  • Generating BACS and electronic bank payments to suppliers, for both our UK and US locations

  • Issuing cheques to suppliers

  • Ensuring that internal controls are compiled timely and fully documented

  • Assisting external and internal auditors with interim and year-end requirements

  • Responding to enquiries from suppliers and from other colleagues

  • Implementation of Accounts Payable best practices to help streamline current processes

    Experience gained in an office administration role

  • Timely and accurate data entry skills, with a high level of attention to detail

  • Good level of IT literacy

  • Ability to use own initiative, prioritise tasks and work well under pressure

  • Ability to work within a small team and drive to become cross-trained to ensure all Accounts Payables duties can be covered for instances such as holiday cover

  • Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with suppliers


  • Although not essential, experience of purchase ledger / accounts payable and working knowledge of SAP / S4 HANA would be advantageous.

    A competitive salary between £25,000 to £27,000, with the level dependent on experience

  • You will be employed on a permanent contract, working predominantly Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Flexibility with working hours will be required due to the nature of the role. The role will be office-based.
