Full Job Description

As an Airfield Support Equipment Mechanical Fitter, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Ensuring the assets availability as per the contracted output through effective maintenance in line with approved data.

Day-to-day, you'll ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner, on time and to the highest standard, as well as:

  • Check that all equipment required for tasking is available and reporting all deficiencies in an appropriately timely manner to the correct person(s).

  • The completion of pre-printed work cards and completion of maintenance procedures via computer-based systems such as the Integrated Maintenance System (IMS) software.

  • The overall safety and security of equipment under his/her control.


  • This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Valley.

  • Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.

  • Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet.


  • Qualifications for the Airfield Support Equipment Mechanical Fitter:
  • Training in Electrical discipline to City and Guilds Level or equivalent level 3 equivalent (completed an apprenticeship)


  • Security Clearance
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance
