Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to run an in house team of linespersons maintaining and upgrading our low voltage overhead network to ensure reliability and to enable us to achieve our Net Zero goal.

Ensuring that all works are adequately risk assessed and appropriate mitigation is in place, to ensure that safety from the power system to staff and public is maintained through full compliance with relevant procedures, work instructions and regulations.

Organise and program works for a dedicated team of linespersons working on our low voltage overhead network, to enable them to complete works safely and efficiently. Order materials for the program of works in advance to avoid hold ups on the job. Ensure quality of work is maintained to specification and workmanship is at the highest level. Arrange low voltage outages, switching out the network as required and issuing of any safety documentation required.

Ensure all tools and equipment are in good order and where required tested regularly to comply with policy and legislation. Keep all staff in the team up to date with any authorisations and any other learnings they may require to remain compliant.

Respond as required both as an individual and a team when called upon to assist with supply emergencies.

SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1,2,4,5 or equivalent.

- Operational experience on SSEN overhead low voltage networks or similar overhead networks.

- Knowledge of construction of distribution overhead low voltage systems or similar overhead equipment

- Be a good organiser and motivator of both themselves and their team.

Network Construction, Wessex region is part of the Capital Delivery Team in the Southern license area of SSEN.
