Full Job Description

Redrow Homes are looking for an individual who is passionate about carpentry and other aspects of building to join as an Apprentice Carpenter. As an apprentice you will be studying towards a level 2 apprenticeship in Carpentry which will include both theory and practical skills for a duration of 22-months.

Your time as an Apprentice Carpenter will be split between working on site with an experienced tradesperson learning from their years of expertise, and intensive block release training at the SMG Group, Coalville, Leicestershire.,

  • Adhering to health, safety, environment and welfare policies and procedures in the workplace Using a range of hand and power tools

  • Building studwork walls and staircases

  • Pitching roofs, hanging doors, fitting hinges

  • Wood finishing (to doors, windows and windowsills)

    Excellent timekeeping skills with the ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Able to work at height

  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to be thorough

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team and on your own

  • Flexible approach to working on different sites

  • Passionate about construction

  • Live within a maximum of a 45-minute commute by public transport or 60 minutes using your own transport of your assigned site
