Full Job Description

As an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), you will be instrumental in conducting impactful Mental Health Act Assessments for the community. In alliance with a fast-paced team of AMHPs and Mental Health Social Workers, your duties will span across community and hospital environments, responding to crucial assessments. Your participation in the duty rota, completion of Section 117 reviews, and other pivotal tasks will be integral to the role. You will actively play a key role in safeguarding our County's most vulnerable individuals, using the Social Services and Wellbeing Care Act to commission Care Packages and Placements tailored to service users' needs.,

  • To autonomously and to independently assess and take appropriate action in relation to assessment and care planning in line with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Social Services & Wellbeing (Wales) Act's, drawing on recent case studies and references from the past five years.

  • Respond swiftly to Mental Health Act Assessments across various settings.

  • Engage in teamwork to guarantee the smooth operation of mental health services.

  • Regularly report on activities and developments to the Service Manager and Team Manager.

  • Conduct Section 117 reviews and undertake other assigned duties as needed.

  • Champion the Social Model within secondary mental health services.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate assessments beyond standard operating hours, particularly for assessments that extend past 17:00, Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority for Pembrokeshire County Council.     Grade 9 - £42,403 - £43,421 plus an additional £2,000 Annual Competency Payment (criteria applies).
