Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for Assistant Manager - Packing Department to join our team at King's Lynn site!

You will help shape and structure Packing Department. This will include overseeing the management and smooth running of your area.

You will look to align and maintain capacity, efficiency, yields and quality to meet market demand as well as exciting growth targets for the Site. You will lead the Team and support with the co-ordination of the workflow between departments, monitoring and improving processes as required, ensuring on time deliver, exceptional quality levels and customer service coupled with the mindset and aptitude to deliver change and results.

Accountabilities and responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Delivering KPIs - to include providing actions and evidencing results.

  • Meeting and exceeding customer requirements in terms of Quality, Food Safety, Cost & Delivery.

  • Strategically planning both from a resource and capacity planning perspective.

  • Driving continuous improvement in both our processes and quality.

  • Challenging, mentoring and coaching people (to include objectively assess own teams' performance).

  • Actively promote and deliver improved health and safety behaviours - leading the achievement of a strong Health & Safety culture (and environmental awareness).

  • Assisting with any other elements of the day to day running of the Packing Department and working as part of our team environment.


  • In your role, you will:
  • Work well under pressure and within a fast paced, ever changing environment - to include making decisions with the required amount of urgency.

  • Anticipate and identify challenges / problems and owning these through to conclusion.

  • Understand factors that affect efficiency (i.e. yields, labour costs, waste, non-conformances etc.).

  • Demonstrate tangible and sustained KPI improvements.

  • Demonstrate strong team building and people management skills.


  • The working hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm rotating weekly however flexibility will be required to meet business needs.
