Full Job Description

Accountable to the Digital Field Technology Platform Lead within the Digital Field Technology Platform team, the Associate Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the technological needs of field operations.

This role ensures that NGED's field operations staff are equipped with the right digital tools and solutions, facilitating their tasks in real-time. As an Associate Analyst, you'll be introduced to a variety of digital field tools and systems, forming a vital link between the field staff's tech needs and the solutions the team provides.,

  • Reporting directly to the Digital Field Technology Platform Lead within the Digital Field Technology Platform team.

  • Assisting with digital service requests, callouts, and incidents specific to field operations, always keeping senior team members informed.

  • Supporting the escalation process for field tech-related issues to senior team members.

  • Participating in daily operational checks of digital tools and systems utilized by field staff.

  • Facilitating communication with field technology users within NGED to ensure smooth operations and prompt resolution of issues.

  • Collaborating in remote support sessions focused on field technology applications and tools.

  • Reporting observed field tech issues to internal teams and, when directed, to external support providers.

  • Aiding in pinpointing areas of enhancement in the processes and documentation related to digital field technology.

  • Utilising tools and systems that monitor and troubleshoot field tech issues under guidance.

  • Keeping updated on the latest digital solutions and tools that can enhance field operations.

  • Being prepared for training and, eventually, participation in a 24x7 standby rota to support field operations.

  • To be able to carry out all non-technical system configuration changes and updates as directed.

  • To assist in the support and maintenance of existing systems, liaise with customers and 3rd Parties as necessary.

  • To assist in managing planned system outages and upgrades.

    A degree or currently pursuing a degree in a related field, or possessing equivalent experience in field technology.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on field operations support.

  • Basic understanding or genuine interest in the digital solutions and systems used by field operations staff.

  • An inclination or interest in the application layers specific to field technology.

  • Strong analytical skills with an enthusiasm to hone troubleshooting skills for field tech issues.

  • Prior exposure or a keen interest in technologies beneficial to field operations, such as Jira, Splunk, Confluence, Tanium, Prometheus, Grafana, and Alert Manager.

  • Dependable and committed, with the motivation to contribute both individually and as an integral part of the Digital Field Technology Platform team.

    We offer hybrid working with a typical working pattern of 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.

    A competitive salary between £33,000 - £37,000 - dependent on capability
