    You'll have either an Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience/HND. You'll need a working knowledge of network architecture standards and ideally have a good understanding of ISA-95 automation standard.     What's the role?
    This role will maintain our site automation network, hardware & software, delivering increased plant efficiency/reliability along with reduced costs. This includes monitoring and modifying existing process control systems and PLC code to optimise operational performance as well as providing technical support to the maintenance technicians - acting in the role of coach/mentor for our engineering team, helping to increase knowledge of automation systems across the site.

    At Manchester the Utilities, Beer Production and Packaging areas are controlled and monitored using both Rockwell & Siemens PLCs, and a range of different SCADA systems, comprising BrewMaxx by ProLeit, AVEVA InTouch, Rockwell FactoryTalk ViewSE & GE iFIX, plus a range of OEM specific HMIs mainly on PanelView Plus and WinCC Comfort panels.

    The automation infrastructure is made up of a fully resilient managed network and the latest visualisation technologies to provide a robust and flexible environment.

    The 150 plus PLCs range from early Allen Bradley SLC & PLC5 to the latest Rockwell ControlLogix processors with Siemens S7-400s on the BrewMaxx systems and S7-1200s on our newest Blade & BrewLock production line.

    Communications between SCADA to PLC, and PLC to PLC, is predominantly by EthernetIP or ProfiNet depending on the system. IO Level networks employed on site comprise EthernetIP, ASi, Profibus DP, Remote IO, DeviceNet and ControlNet.

    You'll be compensated with a call-out payment as well should you be required beyond your contracted hours., We've 150 years of brewing history and are proud of this legacy.     Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, plus £10,300 call-out payment and benefits listed below.
