Full Job Description

  • Follow opening and closing procedures, ensuring the bar is always hygienic, stocked and ready for the next service

  • Maintain a clean, tidy bar and surrounding area

  • Provide an entertaining and memorable experience, advising the guest on cocktails, wines and beverages to compliment their meal or palate, upselling where opportunities arise

  • Maintain high standards of guest care and ensure that the guest's expectations are always exceeded

  • Ensure accurate billing

  • Be aware of any guest dissatisfaction and immediately take action to resolve

  • Strive to achieve/exceed departmental targets

  • Serve alcoholic beverages in line with licensing laws

  • Ensure the correct handling, use of, storage and cleaning of all liquor service equipment

  • Strictly adhere to company rules regarding fire and health & safety, as per hotel standards

    We require an exceptionally polite and courteous individual to help us achieve outstanding customer service for guests using the hotel lounge and bar. Naturally a highly motivated individual, you will be unashamedly passionate about wine and mixology, always keen to provide guests with an enchanting and memorable experience. You will have the ability to communicate with flair, conversing fluently and confidently with guests. You will provide a prompt and efficient service, with the aim of always exceeding customer expectations. In addition, the role involves assisting with weddings and banqueting, afternoon teas and special events., Previous F&B experience in a similar role, preferably 3-5 star hotel

  • High knowledge of fine wine, spirits and cocktails (ideally WSET qualification or equivalent)

  • Excellent interpersonal and up-selling skills

  • A friendly positive attitude and a desire to learn

  • A focus on customer service and the guest experience

  • A strong work ethic and be a team player

  • Able to work well under pressure

  • Passion for the job and ambition to succeed

  • Excellent level of English, Bartending: 1 year (preferred)

  • The position is full time (40 hours per week), with a rota operating on 5 out of 7 days per week. The hotel is situated 5 minutes' walk from Brockenhurst Village and train station with excellent rail links to Bournemouth, Southampton and London.
