Full Job Description

Like our menus, our drinks offering changes seasonally. We are very lucky to be surrounded by extensive gardens full of herbs, wild flowers and other inspiring produce available for the bar and kitchen to use, along with other incredible local produce on the door step. Our wine list supports small independent producers with a natural approach to winemaking and each bottle is carefully selected by our in house team.

Bar responsibilities will include creative beverage development and costings with a huge focus on seasonal produce and availability, stock ordering, accurate wastage reporting, staff training and effective cleaning of all bar equipment including draught beer lines, ice machines, glass washer and our much loved frozen margarita machine!

Our dedicated team work closely together with an 'all hands on deck' approach. As a Supervisor you will be required to support the Restaurant Manager in leading the team, this may include running shifts in their absence and ensuring all end of day procedures are completed such as cash up, close down and locking up the restaurant.

This is a fast paced role which requires an efficient service style, a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills. In addition to being responsible for effectively running the bar and all things beverage, it is essential that you are confident in providing excellent customer service to guests dining at the bar. Working in conjunction with Trevibban Mill we also host and cater for weddings several times a year. During these events, the bar in Barnaby's is used for guests through the day.

There is great scope for the right candidate to develop this role further and become more involved in beverage development for our other restaurants within the group.

Passionate, creative and dedicated Bar Supervisor required to join our dynamic restaurant team at Barnaby's. The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality, a natural flair for developing seasonal cocktails and a keen eye for detail. We're looking for someone who is hard working, fun to be around and a great team player.,

  • Minimum 2 years bar experience in a similar operation and Min. 1 year Supervisory experience

  • Broad knowledge of a range of spirits and cocktails

  • At minimum, a basic knowledge of wine and competence in serving wine at the table

  • A proven record of providing exemplary customer service with a friendly, professional and efficient service style

    Previous employment must include working in a cocktail focussed role in a supervisory position, ideally in a licensed restaurant or similar.


  • PAY: £17p/h

    £12p/h (standard rate, paid monthly)
    + £5 p/h service charge (avg. paid monthly)
    + Cash tips (shared weekly)

    HOURS: 45 hrs per week (Tuesday-Saturday)

    ACCOMMODATION: Live-in staff accommodation may be available in nearby Padstow
