Full Job Description

We have a unique opportunity for an exceptional colleague to join the People Team at Mitie, as a Business Manager supporting the Chief People Officer.
Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Act as the primary gatekeeper, liaison and point of contact for the Chief People Officer (CPO) with Mitie executives, clients, partners, and vendors

  • Proactively provide high-level administrative and project management support to the CPO

  • Prepare and review reports, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders, producing executive summaries for easy digest

  • Coordinate and facilitate the delivery updates of key people initiatives across the People function Centres of Excellence; Reward, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Internal Communications, Mergers & Acquisitions, People Change & Transformation, and Resourcing.

  • Proactively manage and own the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cadence to the Mitie Board, Executive, Leadership Team, People Team and Mitie colleagues on behalf of the CPO, ensuring sufficient lead time for inputs, review and amendments before timely submission

  • Monitor the budget and financial processes for the People function, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting in partnership with the Finance Business Partner

  • Organise and facilitate meetings, events, speaking engagements, travel and presentations, and prepare agendas, minutes, and preparation materials as necessary

  • Identify and resolve issues, anticipating needs, and proposing solutions proactively, using your initiative and good judgement

  • Develop and implement process improvements and best practices creatively

  • Commit to excellence, learning, and continuous improvement

  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism


  • What you will need to succeed
  • Experience in a similar role supporting senior executives, preferably in a large and complex organisation

  • An understanding of the work done within a People team and the roles and responsibilities of a People or HR Leadership Team

  • Knowledge of the Human Resources / People industry is essential

  • Strong project management, organisational, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - with internally and externally facing engagement

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications. revious experience of using Coupa, Inntel, Aria, SuccessFactors and eArcu will be an advantage

  • Knowledge of the Facilities Management industry will be an advantage
