Full Job Description

  • To debone and trim pork legs to required customer specifications.

  • Removing all bone chips and cartilage from legs.

  • Working on Pace lines.

  • To examine the quality of finished product to ensure it has met the required standard.

  • To wear PPE provided correctly, including ear protection.

  • Cutting gloves and chainmail to be worn where a knife is being used.

  • To comply with the food and hygiene requirements at all times.

  • Report any hazards or machine problems immediately to your supervisor

  • Be aware of all KPI indicators i.e. ways in which efficiency and yields can be improved, labour costs and waste can be reduced.

  • To operate within the company health and safety standards and ensure that the workstation is kept clean and tidy.

    Previous experience is desirable, but not essential as there is a full training and development programme in place. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate good manual dexterity, have a good eye and hand co-ordination, show attention to detail and commitment to quality.


  • In addition they will need to demonstrate an understanding and application of good manufacturing practices, including hygiene and health and safety.

    Our butchery team debone raw pork legs, ready for the other teams to process and pack based on the requirements of our customers. If you are a skilled butcher or willing to train and develop your skills, and believe you have what it takes to consistently work at a high pace dictated by line speed we would love to hear from you.

    Our 42 hour per week shift pattern is 5.25am-2.55pm Monday -Thursday and 5.25am-2.25 pm on Friday

    Within this role there may be the requirement to work additional or different hours to cover the business needs at peak times, so flexibility is required.

    Rates of pay start from £26,208pa and can rise to £31,974pa depending on skill level. Plus there is a generous bonus scheme which can dramatically increase your earning potential.
