Full Job Description

A student intern is sought to work with Playdale's Technical Team, a team of Design Engineers made up of Product Designers and Mechanical Engineers. One of the main roles of this department is to develop, improve and maintain Playdale's product offerings.

This project will involve helping Playdale with a key strategic digital development, integrating a new Product Data Management (PDM) system by converting, enhancing and creating product CAD assets. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for 3D CAD and be fluent in both Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor. Knowledge of Autodesk Vault would also be beneficial. You should have a systematic and logical approach to CAD modelling.

This internship will involve working in a busy and productive Design Engineering office, offering fantastic experience of working in a fast paced industry environment. You will gain invaluable insight into a dynamic working culture and develop practical skills applying to real world challenges. The successful candidate will be expected to work from Playdale's offices, based in Haverthwaite, Ulverston. Consideration to the feasibility of working from the business premises and any travel requirements should be given before applying. Full working details, including times and dates will be agreed upon appointment. It is envisaged that this internship will run over summer 2024 and there is a total of 130 hours available.

This project is supported by Westmorland and Furness Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The ideal candidate for this position will have :

  • A passion for 3D CAD and be fluent in both Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor.

  • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault would also be beneficial.
