Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Calibration Engineer. In this role, you will be carrying out inspections, calibrations, and adjustments / repairs on highly specialized instruments.

You will also be responsible for identifying faulty equipment and suggesting solutions where necessary.

To be successful as a calibration engineer, you should have a good eye for detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and above-average troubleshooting skills. Ultimately a top-class calibration engineer will work quickly and methodically to ensure equipment is safe for operation, calibrated to the industry / business standards and is fully traceable.Wherever possible, we will consider a variety of working options to suit your lifestyle, whether that be hybrid home/office working, flexible working and part or full time employment. We welcome the challenge to work in new ways and have trust in you when getting the job done because we recognise, our business is our people.Job ScopeAdministration and maintenance of the Calibration database on the companies ERP system.Coordinate and manage the timely withdrawal of all equipment requiring calibration from its place of use with Team Leaders and Managers and return the same
equipment following a successful calibration.Coordinate and manage the timely calibrations of equipment that cannot be removed from its place of use with Team Leaders and Managers.Coordinate and record shipments to and from subcontracted calibration houses.Review incoming calibration certificates and records to determine completeness, accuracy, and suitability in accordance with industry / business standards.Develop, update and review Calibration Processes and Procedures.Analyze, maintain and retrieve Calibration records.Quarantine equipment that has surpassed its calibration periodicity or not in continual use.Where measuring equipment is found to be out of tolerance instigate and report findings via the appropriate Quality Engineer, record the conclusions and make the appropriate adjustments.Carry out the calibration of internal measuring equipment, including (but not limited to), specialized automated test equipment. Mechanical equipment, such as crimp, torque, and mechanical measuring
equipment. Pressure equipment such as Pressure gauges, pressure transducers and vacuum gauges. And electronic equipment such as digital multi meters, power supplies and LCR meters. (This may require traveling to different sites, suppliers, or customers to complete). Train other team members in calibration processes and procedures as required. There may be additional activities to perform from time to time to maximize the contribution to Ultra PCS LTD goals and delivering departmental objectives.Complete all the above in accordance with Company procedures.Personal Attributes:Learns new concepts quickly and is comfortable with working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.Pro-active and self-motivated with wide-ranging problem solving experience.Positive attitude with ability to work as part of a team or alone with little supervision or direction.Excellent communication skills (comfortable communicating at all levels).Ability to manage own workload, adapt to change and

prioritise based on team objectives.Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:Full understanding of the expectations and requirements of your primary customer(s).To work with fellow team members in a respectful and courteous manner.Evidence of an eye test within the last 2 years and appropriate actions taken where required.Thorough knowledge of continuous improvement methods, in particular 'lean' and use this understanding to question and where necessary challenge constructively any operation or instruction believed not to be the most effective option for the Company or its customers.National Certificate / Diploma Level 3 or equivalent in an electronics, mechanical or electromechanical discipline.Willingness to travel.Security Clearance:Due to the nature of the work carried out at Ultra, all applicants must be eligible for SC Clearance.Benefits:Every employee is critical to our success and as such we offer a range of flexible employee benefits
