Full Job Description

Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin's attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Capital Developments Investment Analyst to join our Resorts Development department on a permanent basis. The role is a part-time role, based at Poole or Basingstoke office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.,

  • Development of robust, dynamic financial models for new projects and brands as appropriate, to assist in the new site decision making process from the initial identification stage through to Board approval

  • Responsible for the review of the board paper financial sections for all new Gateway sites

  • Provide Global Property Director with analysis to aid lease negotiations

  • Challenge approach to financial modelling and investment appraisal to ensure all viable opportunities are pursued and decision-making is robust

  • Significant amount of independent activity and engagement with senior non-finance business leaders

  • Work closely with Capital Developments Director to ensure a collaborative approach to the investment appraisal process for all NBD proposals and drive standardisation across divisions regarding modelling approach and processes

    Finance background, with proven experience in Commercial Finance role(s)

  • Detailed specialist knowledge on investment and financial appraisal techniques

  • Expert in financial analysis

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities from multiple senior stakeholders effectively

  • Fast learner and a willing attitude to learn new ways to solve problems

  • Clarity of effective presentation, especially with complex information

  • Good social skills to build rapport and relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Desire to be part of a team delivering operational excellence

  • Previous experience within theme parks/retail/hospitality or any other multi-site business would be highly desirable but not essential
