Full Job Description

You are the face of the catering service operation as a Catering Assistant at Sodexo in Oasis Academy, Immingham. This position involves making sure that all work areas are kept clean and organised at all times, as well as preparing and serving our various menus. Your positive attitude and exceptional customer service abilities will make you an indispensable part of everyone's daily life.

What you'll do:

  • Assist with steamtable and counter setup and serving of hot and/or cold food.

  • Sanitise and clean workstations and equipment.

  • Calculate the amount of food required by reading recipes and/or directions for the product.

  • At the conclusion of meal times, serve and replenish food from counters, steam tables, and dismantle stations.

  • Engage with students in the dining, retail, and serving areas.

    Professionalism, empathy, and a positive outlook on life

  • Basic food handling skills are preferred but not essential.

  • Ability to spend up to eight hours a day working while standing

  • There is no requirement for prior work experience.

    Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks.
