You will provide a stimulating environment, conducive to the educational, personal and social development of the children as outlined on their education, health and care plans ( EHCP ).

You will be a Key Worker for a child or small groups of children offering appropriate levels of support, guidance and care and you will maintain regular contact with the parents / carers of our children and young people, under the direction of senior staff.

Ideally, for this role, we are looking for someone who has experience of working within a children's home setting, is passionate about supporting young people and holds, or is working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.

If you don't have the experience or qualifications yet, but share our commitment to developing confident and capable young people and making a difference to their lives by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions, we would love to hear from you.

We will fund your level 3 qualification and provide the support you need to successfully achieve it. If you achieve it within 12 months, you'll also get a £1000 bonus!

What do our staff say about working at Wings School Cumbria?

I enjoy seeing the progress in the children. I have worked my way up from a Care Worker position here, and I absolutely love my job.

The staff team are fantastic and there is a real community feel.

I have been here 6 years and progressed throughout the ranks, I have been supported by Kedleston Group as a whole. They promote positive health and wellbeing and are very supportive in all aspects of my life.
