Cleaning Operative

As a Cleaning Operative, you will ensure that the Bournemouth & Poole College is cleaned to the highest possible standards of Cleaning and waste services across the Estate, with a sustainable approach. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable individual to join our Cleaning team.

Hours of work: 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities as our Cleaning Operative will include:

• Delivering a 'best in class' cleaning application at the Bournemouth & Poole College.


• Following company procedures and required health and safety.


• Keeping all equipment clean and in a hygienic standard at all times.


• Following a daily schedule which includes cleaning of offices, classrooms, corridors, kitchens, toilets, washrooms and waste removal.


• Weekly deep cleaning of stipulated areas.


• Machine operating - Carpet cleaning and cleaning of hard floors.
  
  GCSE qualification (or equivalent)


• Cleaning industry training


• 2 + years' work experience in a Cleaning role


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team


• The ability to work split working shifts to cover day and night shifts, The successful applicant will be required to undertake appropriate safeguarding checks as well as providing proof of right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this Role.
  
  We are a subsidiary of Bournemouth & Poole College providing cleaning services to the College sites in both Poole and Bournemouth. SEFM are committed to maintaining the cleanliness of the college premises for the benefit of students, staff and visitors.


The SEFM (Southern Educational Facilities Management Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bournemouth and Poole College) Cleaning Operations Team work within the Estates Department with contact with a wide range of internal stakeholders to support the provision of a varied range of vocational workspaces; keeping these clean and engaging with students and staff across the College.

The Estates Team has c.80 inhouse staff across Technical & Maintenance Services, Catering & Hospitality, and Security & Premises, SEFM Cleaning.
