Full Job Description

We're looking for someone with a proven track record in planning, delivering and evaluating creative integrated communications and marketing campaigns and support delivery of the some of the Council's key projects such as cultural services, economic development, investment, behaviour change and climate change.

Working with other members of the Communications Team, the successful candidate will have excellent skills across a wide range of marketing, public relations and media engagement, writing engaging content for different audiences and both digital and traditional channels. They will also be able to demonstrate strong project management skills to delivery projects for both internal and external audiences.

Stakeholder management will also be a key part of the role to ensure that local people, as well as elected members, employees, partners and the media understand what developments are taking place and what it means for them.

You should have appropriate marketing or communications qualifications e.g. degree, CIPR or CIM or relevant experience.

We're looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Building working relationships with the local media.

  • Writing content for a range of channels including press releases, publications e-newsletters, web, social media and briefings.

  • Project management.

  • Delivering targeted marketing campaigns to budget.

  • Analysing and evaluating campaign insights.

  • Building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
