Full Job Description

As a Community Money Guider, you will play a vital role in reaching out to local community groups and individuals who may benefit from our services. You will schedule and attend outreach visits, using our materials and resources to initiate conversations about money with people from all backgrounds and communities.

Our core delivery includes a drop-in informational session on Monday mornings, a group financial coaching programme on Wednesday afternoons, and outreach visits to other organisations within Stockport.

Working pattern
The salary for this role is £4,596.16 per annum based on 7 hours per week (£24,294 full time equivalent). There is scope for progression within the organisation, including additional hours and further training.

Working hours will be agreed, to include Mondays between 10.30am and 1.30pm. We encourage flexible working, including working from our office in Stockport town centre, working from home some of the time, working term-time only, and other arrangements where possible.

Responsibilities
- Identify suitable community groups and schedule outreach visits
- Deliver activities and events as part of the Talk About Money team
- Gather information about common financial concerns within the community
- Promote our drop-in sessions and other relevant events
- Track impact by recording attendee demographics and outcomes

Essential
- Commitment to inclusion and empowerment
- Ability to work independently when required
- Confident interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, including children and vulnerable adults (enhanced DBS check will be carried out)
- Willingness to develop technical knowledge
- Ability to travel within the Greater Manchester area (own vehicle not essential)
- Good command of the English language (at minimum, CEFR level B1)
- Right to work in the UK

Preferred
- Experience in community education, coaching, counselling/therapeutic support, personal finance, youth work, or a related field
- Strong administrative skills
- Lived experience of overcoming financial difficulties, If you are passionate about helping others improve their financial well-being, have excellent organisational skills, and enjoy engaging with people, we would love to hear from you.
