Duration of role: Regular, permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: Nights, 22:00 - 06:00 Job Description There is a fantastic new opportunity to join one of our existing contracts based in Middlewich Shared User Site dealing with multiple customer contracts. This role will require you to work in partnership with customers to move the operation to the next level and provide an efficient, market-leading delivery service on a national scale. You will successfully lead, develop, and manage the management team, and colleagues in performance targets and all other activities on behalf of customer. The successful applicant must meet and exceed all customer expectations and requirements, whilst ensuring compliance to statutory regulations, financial targets and KPIs. You will build an excellent relationship with the client and display Wincanton's expertise in running successful operations, with a focus on customer service and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager
this position holds responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our customer contracts operation based out of the site. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Responsible for Health & Safety compliance and delivery of the Wincanton Safety vision, leading from the front with both behaviours and focus. - Ensure financial and operational KPI targets are met, through pro-active performance management. - Engage, develop, and motivate your team to create a positive cultural workplace to drive colleague engagement. - Be an advocate for excellent customer experience ensuring a positive customer experience. - Ensure effective communication with colleagues throughout the operation, providing information on performance, company news and procedures in a timely manner. - Ensuring an effective people resourcing plan is delivered to meet the needs of the business. - You will be responsible for building relationships with business partners to ensure that they meet
the service level agreements. - Maintain efficient cost control and financial performance to achieve customer financial budget and allow Wincanton to achieve financial targets. - Lead a high performing team, setting challenging business targets and performance standards. - To ensure that all the employees are fully trained and inducted in both Wincanton and client's procedures, arranging refresher training as required. - Drive performance, timekeeping, attendance, overtime and sickness levels of individual colleagues and action as per procedures. - Lead Continuous Improvement programmes on site to ensure that the CI approach is undertaken in relations to processes, systems, equipment, and facilities. - Conduct monthly period reviews with the client's and Wincanton's senior teams. - To undertake other such duties as may be required for the effective operation of the function and the depot. - Adhere to Health and Safety and company policies and procedures. - Be
an advocate and ambassador of the company to drive best practice and strive for excellence.

Leadership of a team with acute awareness and respect for Health & Safety always. - Contract management experience ideally gained within a fast paced, logistical distribution environment. - Excellent team building, leadership, and motivational skills. - Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to understand the dynamics of 'open/closed book' contracts and develop a profit centre approach with a focus on bottom line performance. - Ability to build strong and effective relationships with customers and colleagues by demonstrating an elevated level of integrity and professionalism. - Ability to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility and see the customer's business from their perspective. - Experience of Warehouse Management Systems, Software and Microsoft Office applications. - Customer-driven with excellent leadership and communication skills, able to build effective relationships with team, client and other third parties. - Experience
of working within Continuous Improvement programmes and can demonstrate an appreciation of key methodologies and approaches. - Enthusiastic, committed, and able to respond in a positive manner to change. - Highly numerate with excellent written skills - Strong planning analytical skills.
