Full Job Description

The EMEA Tax Director role has primary responsibility for all tax matters within the EMEA region and will report to the Group Tax Director with dotted line reporting to the EMEA Finance Director. In conjunction with the wider Group Tax Team the role will be responsible for designing and leading our EMEA tax Strategy, tax reporting & compliance at a time of significant strategic change both internally and externally driven by the global transition to battery electric vehicles. Critical for this role is experience leading and operating in a dynamic multinational group and a proven ability to deliver strategic objectives through building trusted and collaborative relationships across the organisation.,

  • Support the Group Tax Director in delivering strategic and commercially beneficial tax solutions adhering to our core values and policies.

  • Lead the development and delivery of EMEA tax planning and strategy, identifying opportunities and ensuring benefits are realized, risks are managed and compliance is maintained.

  • Actively engage with the business and operating units to understand existing processes and activities, identify new areas of risk and opportunity and implement appropriate solutions.

  • Provide oversight and control over local tax activities including corporate income tax compliance, internal provisioning and tax disclosures for the statutory accounts processes.

  • Work with the Group and International Tax Directors to manage and forecast the effective tax rate of the Group.

  • Work with the Group Transfer Pricing Director to develop and improve transfer pricing within the EMEA region and support with the preparation of appropriate documentation.

  • Work with the Group Indirect Tax Manager to support indirect tax within EMEA.

  • Manage tax due diligence and structuring for EMEA M&A activities.

  • Provide active oversight and hands on support in managing relationships with tax authorities and tax audits within EMEA. Ensure responses to notices, queries and correspondence in a timely manner.

  • Operate as a senior leader in the tax and finance teams as well as the wider business helping to deliver and implement strategic goals.

  • Actively support develop and mentor at all levels within the tax and finance teams promoting a collaborative, diverse and supportive work environment.

    Ability to lead and deliver in a dynamic environment, identifying opportunities, driving change and continuous improvement with a positive attitude and critical mindset

  • Willingness to step in and work in detail to achieve objectives

  • Ability to operate under pressure and capable of managing numerous work streams at once

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small global team, sharing knowledge and ideas

  • Must be a confident communicator with good interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset

  • European language skills beneficial.


  • Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or non UK equivalent).

  • Professional certification (ideally ACA, CTA or non UK equivalent)

  • Established career in corporate income tax working in or with large multinational and/or public companies

  • Experience in a broad range of international tax issues including structuring, financing, transfer pricing, M&A etc.

  • Good understanding and hands-on application of tax accounting under IFRS.


  • Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license beneficial


  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.


  • Working Conditions:
  • Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds.

  • Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting and bending.

  • Occasionally works within an automotive components manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals., Bachelor's Degree (or non UK equivalent).
