Full Job Description

We're looking for an Administrator to join our Crematorium who can make a real difference in their local community. In this role you'll assist in the provision of a courteous, efficient, effective, and dignified service to all our clients.

What we are offering is a full-time role, 39 hours per week, to be worked between Monday to Saturday, on an at need and rota basis, based at The Oaks Havant Crematorium (PO9 5NA).

As an integral part of our team supporting the day-to-day operation of the Crematorium, you'll be taking an active role in dealing with members of the public, clients and third parties to ensure all aspects of the day-to-day activities at the Crematorium run smoothly. You'll provide a warm and friendly welcome to the site and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the bereaved in an empathetic and compassionate manner.

We're after the right candidate who can demonstrate excellent communication skills in a professional, confident, and courteous way. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail will be essential. You'll be happy working alone, without direct supervision or immediate support, or as part of the wider team. Your day-to-day tasks will include but not be limited to as no day is ever the same:

-Be responsible for the diary booking system and all administration systems ensuring the smooth operation of the crematorium facility

-Promote, arrange, and administer cremation services, memorialisation orders and aftercare services in-line with, statutory legislation, and internal KPI's

-Liaising with all visitors to the site, attending and overseeing services and providing guidance to Funeral Directors, Clergy/Celebrants, the bereaved and members of the public before, during and after services.

-Ensuring the identification, storage, and final disposal of cremated remains in the grounds are undertaken and documented appropriately.

-Supporting the wider team to ensure the smooth running of every aspect of operations on site, including undertaking internal and external cleaning but not limited to.

-Provide Service hall cover when required - preparing the Service hall and other areas for services, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with pre-agreed arrangements and to the highest of standards.

-Be proactive in community engagement initiatives both individually and in team events, whilst promoting ELS/SC brand proactively and positively to become the communities' choice.

-Open and close the grounds and buildings (Book of Remembrance) out of hours including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis when required.
