The primary focus of this role is to coach, develop and motivate the sales team to grow the Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management business through close partnership with our customers. To lead the sales team in navigating a dynamic healthcare system and support them in their understanding of this changing environment. Develop and coach the team in understanding the clinical and non-clinical stakeholder matrix and support them to create working relationships across the full breadth of that matrix. Ensure continuous development of the sales process. The District Manager will drive the collaboration of the CRM Sales team in the district with other key stakeholder groups, including Technical Consultants, Market Development, Marketing, Customer Care and Contracts & Pricing. The District Manager will lead the District Sales team to achieve business objectives, meet or exceed financial & behavioural expectations, and bring the Medtronic Mission to life within the team.

A Day in the Life

  • Responsible for ensuring the team drive the use of the full range of CRM products in a professional manner to hospitals and related healthcare professionals as well as for the management of quality and consistency of product and service delivery

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute strategies to drive market share gain

  • Responsible for maximising CRM growth and profitability through a strong sales team which achieves district revenue and profitability targets

  • Set SMART business objectives with the sales team, including at individual account level with clear execution strategies and focus on accountability/ownership of objectives

  • Support long term sustainable business in the district through effective price/contract management, inventory management and identification of investment opportunities

  • Ensure that the team develop new growth opportunities in partnership with market development teams

  • An enthusiastic, high-energy member of the CRM Leadership Team, who brings innovative ideas to the group and shares success stories/best practice

  • Responsible for ensuring the team build strong ethical business relationships with customers to ensure usage of our products and gain greater market share by focusing on patient/clinical outcomes and business solutions selling

  • Develop and motivate all members of the CRM sales team

    University Degree

  • Knowledge of medical device industry or pharmaceuticals, including an understanding of health care industry and reimbursement

  • Experience of medical sales in the UK market

  • Strong business acumen and experience of working successfully in a matrix organisation.

  • Experience of territory planning and forecasting experience (from a sales/sales management perspective)

  • Strong ability to spot business opportunities and to persuade and influence others internally and externally

  • Willingness to travel 2/3 days per week

  • Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision

  • Excellent communicational skills, positive attitude

  • Fluent English, both verbally and written

  • Full clean driving license

  • Proven track record in people management incl. coaching, development, performance management of individuals/teams is strongly desired

  • Professional coaching qualification

  • Knowledge of Cardiac Rhythm Management area
