Full Job Description

Work as part of the Technical Transformation team across commercial and technical areas, providing consolidated, granular, accurate data for the purposes of analytics, data science and business reporting.

This role encompasses project management and governance over both evolution of existing and new data engineering and science driven developments. The role plays a key part across all Transformation activities in the team ensuring all change is appropriately managed with robust governance support to all peers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data warehouse acceptance criteria: defining KPIs for UAT and ongoing maintenance of data warehouse

  • Lead role in data governance to ensure robust controls and QA are in place to ensure data is accurate, complete and appropriate for Underwriting decision making.

  • Defining and building out proposed Operating model for Iris Underwriting Datawarehouse solution which delivers greater efficiency in our to-be state

  • Lead technical business input for Underwriting Datawarehouse solution development team

  • Define UAT testing plan, lead review/testing for deliverables and supporting evidence for business sign off

  • TPA data management: Review, scope out, define and build future state TPA data management processes supporting new Iris Underwriting Data Warehouse

  • Lead role in supporting AGB digital solutions team integration with global Technical Transformation team

  • Lead role in facilitating collaboration between teams within the Technical Transformation team and across other departments (Underwriting, IT, Sales, Product etc) as required, successfully influencing stakeholders

  • Working closely with technical SMEs, lead the effort to build business requirements for data, analytics, reporting projects and oversight of the program, converting this into actionable development plans.

  • Coordination of data projects with different levels of complexity utilising existing methods, processes and tools

  • Oversight of FTE and AGB global project resources providing support to deliver above objectives, in particular, provides input on targets and feedback on performance, managing day to day operational tasks and workflow. Acts as coach/mentor supporting the development of FTE.

  • Trusted advisor for key stakeholders and actively clarifies their expectations and requirements

    To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:


  • Desirable to hold a higher education degree or appropriate professional qualification

  • International experience leading technical data programs in insurance underwriting

  • Proficiency and ability to lead IT coding heavy projects and ability to oversee and deliver technical solutions

  • Process efficiency and project management experience required

  • Works with little guidance and direction and performs majority of tasks independently

  • Can lead a variety of tasks in non-standardized work situations. Solves problems based on practice and precedent and the analysis of factual information

  • Understands how the department interacts with stakeholders and uses tact and diplomacy to exchange complex information with a diverse audience

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complicated processes and concepts to non-experts

  • Possessing project management skills and engaging in customer relationship management

  • Excellent analytical skills (capable of understanding complex data structures, organize and structure data extracts)

  • Understanding of risk management, quality management and delivery management

  • High attention to detail including a commitment to accuracy of reporting.
