Full Job Description

As our Decontamination Nurse, you will be responsible for providing fully sterilised equipment that meets practice compliance standards and CQC regulations. You must be meticulous in following procedures to ensure that instruments are properly decontaminated and set up.

You must be based in the region and eligible to work in the UK.,

  • Support the dentist and other dental professionals in meeting cross infection control standards.

  • Ensure safe handling of dirty instruments in the area for sterilisation

  • Carry out cleaning and sterilisation in line with current standards and procedures

  • Safely store clean and decontaminated instruments

  • Participate in the safe disposal of sharps

  • Check the reception email frequently

  • Ensure the appointment system is accurate

  • Acknowledge and welcome all patients, visitors and contractors arriving at the practice

  • Ensure all treatment plans, medical histories and forms are signed at the relevant appointments

  • Maintain patient confidentiality

    GDC Registration (Desirable)

  • Hep B (Desirable)

  • Fluent English written and spoken

  • Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Windows, Office and Outlook

  • Positive attitude

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Ability to work in a team and be a team player

  • Good organisational and time management skills

  • Motivated to learn and succeed.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional
