Full Job Description
- Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff and ensure high standards of care. Support the Home Manager in day to day running of the nursing home. Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with CIW standards. Induct, supervise, and appraise junior staff. Liaise with doctors, CPNs and other healthcare professionals. Full time, 40 hours per week which includes 22 hours supernumerary, some weekend work may be involved. Act up in the absence of the Home manager and support the team on a regular "out of hours" basis.
A qualified nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) with a valid NMC PIN number. Someone who is passionate about elderly and dementia care. Someone who has a committed and organised approach. A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills. Up to date clinical skills (training will be provided to assist with revalidation) Someone with knowledge of the current care practices laid down by CIW. NVQ level 5 is desirable, but not essential. Salary £38480 per annum.
Westhaven is a small independent nursing home situated in the residential area of Rhos on Sea, on the outskirts of Colwyn Bay, on the beautiful North Wales coast. Westhaven is registered to provide care for up to 19 residents with nursing and dementia care needs. We have a small friendly team of staff with low staff turnover and have good inspection reports from CIW.
