Full Job Description

  • Experience of leading People and HR transformation projects (in line with the Full understanding of the strategic and operational drivers of the HR function and the value it brings to any organisation)

  • An existing network of senior People and HR professionals within the UK public sector and experience of managing change or transformation within an HR or business environment, either in another consulting firm or in-house

  • Track record in managing the successful delivery of large or complex programmes / engagements on time and within budget

  • Expertise of managing or leading across one or more of the following areas: HR operations, HR transformation programmes, enabling HR technologies, shared services, HR organisation design or a specialist HR area (e.g. learning, recruitment, benefits, reward, performance, talent, recruitment)

  • A strong knowledge of, and be an industry-recognised leader in, HR and related market trends, with a passion and appetite to explore further and introduce new thinking

  • Possess excellent facilitation, communication and data analysis skills, with the ability to influence others

  • Be acutely aware and have experience of managing risks associated with people, process, systems, change and commercials

  • Track record in at least one of account development, business or relationship development with the ability to identify and act upon opportunities to build and develop Deloitte's HR Transformation practice footprint.

    As a Director you will play a key role in leading, growing and shaping our rapidly growing HR Consulting practice. You will take a lead role in shaping the strategic development of the team, fostering a sense of community, as we continue building the business in the market.

    You will also have the commercial experience necessary to build significant new business opportunities for the Firm - focused on the development of senior client relationships across government and the UK Public Sector.

    In doing so, you will bring expert HR technical expertise to develop thought leadership and eminence in the marketplace that gives you the platform to support the Firm's growth ambitions over the long-term.

    As a Director, you will:
  • Work closely with the existing leadership teams to provide leadership, direction and management of the practice.

  • Shape and implement both People Strategy (Future of Work), and HR Strategy (including operating models) within large scale complex organisations or government departments

  • Bring a range of world class technical HR consulting skills and thought leadership to the practice and market e.g. Talent, Recruitment, Learning, Reward

  • Use your long-standing, trust-based relationships with senior clients in the Public Sector to build opportunity and eminence in the market

  • Build, cultivate and own a set of senior industry client and partner relationships

  • Personal independence

    Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
