Full Job Description
Operating the water distribution network in the safest and most cost effective way, capturing data and applying procedures in a compliant manner, whilst earning the trust of our customer's everyday through delivering excellent customer service.
Complying with all company Health and Safety Policies & Procedures, with the safety of yourself, colleagues, contractors and customers always in mind.
Providing and identifying better ways of delivering excellent service to internal and external customers and stakeholders. You will be expected to communicate well and own the problem through to resolution as far as practicable, in order to satisfy regulatory requirements and achieve our customer led success vision.
Undertaking Network monitoring, diagnosing problems and arriving at and implementing Network Solutions and alternatives that ensure we meet our Measures of success. You will need to understand hydraulic principles and carry out operations of all components of the Water Distribution network in line with the training that you have received.
Ensuring all on site activity and asset data is captured in a compliant and accurate manner in our corporate system in order for further analysis within the business.
Generating work orders accurately for delivery by our supply chain for all below and above ground assets and support when required to ensure safe operation/maintenance, high quality and cost efficient work is delivered.
Enforcing basic water regulations through communication with customer and liaison with water regulations department to ensure DWI and Water Act 1991 requirements are met. Investigate, identify and escalate water quality issues to ensure that public health is protected at all times.
Carrying out inspections of the Company's assets when required in order to identify, escalate and report any issues identified which could affect the safety, effectiveness/operational working order or long term condition of the asset. You will be expected to rectify certain defects, if safe to do so, and ensure that sites are left safe.
Taking an active role in the protection of our assets through working with internal and external stakeholders who are undertaking work which may present a risk. Enforcement of Apparatus Damage Report procedures when damage does occur.
Managing a scheduled workload as appropriate based on the job's importance and urgency whilst working on a mobile basis out in the field. The workload should be completed to a high quality, and meet timescales whilst also ensuring effective escalation as required.
Understanding and implementing leakage techniques or principles and able to detect leakage on the network or customer supply pipes when required, ensuring effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders to deliver leakage targets and ensure efficiency.
Attending & resolving emergency calls including those taken via the SmartHub and Retail Business. Assessing the response needed to resolve the problem, or escalating the issue, in order to maintain network operability and customer satisfaction.

5 GCSE's grades A
- - C (or equivalent qualification) including English and Maths or experience in water distribution networks
- Demonstrable experience in delivering great customer service
- Car scheme

- Cycle to work scheme, Full UK drivers licence required
Current, full valid UK driving licence.
Good Interpersonal Skills e.g. building a rapport, listening effectively to others
Prioritisation skills & ability to manage own time and workload.
