Full Job Description

Join the Vehicle Motion team as the Tyre Development Engineer where you'll plan, design and deliver Bentley tyres, wheel, tyre assemblies and tyre pressure labels components / systems to meet the requirements of the Project Description Brochure. The role plays a pivotal role in our Beyond100 strategy aim. Reporting into the Functional Manager your main responsibilities include;

  • Project & supplier management

  • Creating design specifications

  • Validation of tyres across model lines

  • Accountable for technical approval and release activities

  • Resolving concerns raised throughout product emergence process

  • Subjective and / or objective test support

    Join the Tyre development team where you will be delivering some of the most efficient, comfortable and quietest tyres in their sizes as we transition to a fully battery-electric powered future.
    The Suspension & Tyre team deliver the tuneable hardware responsible for Bentley Motors famous ride and noise quality. Using the latest available technologies and working with the most prestigious suppliers in the industry you will be a key part of delivering that quality on our future platforms.

  • Strong problem solving skills, use of problem solving techniques and tools with an analytical/methodologic approach

  • Knowledge and experience of designing or developing tyres from concept to final sign-off. Knowledge of Chassis systems and technologies

  • Experience of objective test procedures and analysis

  • Knowledge of metal & elastomeric components design & material science, NVH, vehicle dynamics, kinematics & mechatronics

  • Ability to conduct DFMEA reviews, plan and manage components and vehicle validations

  • Strong communication and influencing skills essential, both verbal and written, within own area of responsibility. Ability to communicate clearly at various levels across the company in different forums

  • Knowledge of Siemens LMS Scada and VW diagnostic tools

  • A relevant engineering degree or its experience equivalent are required for this role, German language skills would be beneficial but not necessary
