  • About The Engineering Team

    Based within the Operational division of the business, The Engineering Team is responsible for the complete asset care management across all sites including pro-active and re-active maintenance to ensure that minimum disruption is caused to the business.

    Engineering Manager

    Reporting to Head of Projects & Engineering, the Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring all reactive and proactive preventative maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to the required level and any impact on production demand is kept to a minimum. Driving continuous improvement and collaboration across the teams whilst prioritising all works in line with the business requirement. Maximise the efficiency of proactive maintenance schedules and condition-based monitoring to ensure our asset care system reduces the risk for re-active maintenance. Monitoring of KPI's to ensure the Engineering team consistently performs. The scheduling of all works within the team along with ensuring all spares orders are raised to so the works are completed seamlessly. Manage the Hygiene and Line Setting Team. Support the Supervisor of the team to deliver effective changeover's and washouts and maintain a close working relationship with the engineering team.

  • Ensure that all GMP requirements in Hygiene and Quality systems are followed at all times. Take appropriate action where contraventions are identified and escalate to the Head of Projects and Engineering where appropriate.

  • Adhere to all company's Health & Safety requirements and ensure that colleagues follow requirements. Take appropriate action where contraventions are identified and escalate to the Head of Projects and Engineering where appropriate.

  • Personally, communicate effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues and managers.

  • Help to promote a positive working atmosphere within the company by promoting good communication between all colleagues, dealing in a constructive and encouraging way with issues as they arise, and being helpful and supportive towards colleagues.

  • Demonstrate effectiveness as a manager through consistent professional conduct and role model behaviour.

  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the smooth running of the business.


  • Carry out regular 1to 1's with all team members along with annual behavioural and objective reviews.

  • Consistently maintain a high level of accuracy on all company paperwork, feeding back and correcting where necessary.

  • Ensure that all rules governing the behaviour within the business are followed. Support team members who identify contraventions and escalate to the Head of Projects and Engineering where appropriate.

  • Monitor the teams KPI's and ensure target are maintained.

  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach by identifying and anticipating issues, and where appropriate liaising with colleagues and managers in order to resolve these. Identify and monitor continuous improvement ideas.

  • Maintain and continuously improve asset care management ensuring condition-based monitoring is in place and effective.

  • Manage the Engineering team and ensure the delivery of all works include the following:


  • Shift handovers are recorded and effective.

  • Standards are consistently high.

  • Maintenance activities are effective and intervals appropriate.

  • Process and productions planning is effective.

  • Ensuring the team utilises the asset management system in its entirety.

  • Spares are maintained, ready and available.

  • Ensure training is completed in an effective way and the team remains up to date.

  • Create, review and submit any documentation via doc control
