Full Job Description

Due to business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join our team based in our Bromsgrove office and working on exciting projects across the Severn Trent Region. You will be responsible for undertaking bottom up estimates and the management of subcontract packages on multi-discipline engineering projects (MEICA & Civil). Coordinate with our internal design team and external suppliers during this process.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Complete a bottom up estimate for the work activities using labour, plant and materials.

  • Evaluate bid specifications, drawings, and other project documents to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and identify potential risks or opportunities.

  • Liaises with our approved suppliers and subcontractors for estimated costs.

  • Conduct cost analysis of alternative materials, methods, and design changes, providing recommendations to optimise project costs while maintaining quality standards.

  • Supply chain management when developing the estimate ensure time scales are met for the tender return.

  • Liaise with clients to ensure expectations are met in relation to time and costs

  • Provide regular updates to frame work lead

  • Ensure estimate covers engineering specification in line with Design brief with in tender enquiry.

  • Attend site visits when required.

  • Complete tender sign off and hand over.

    Aligned to our ethos and values, you will have good knowledge in Water/Wastewater schemes or in a similar industry, this is not essential but preferable that experience is within this element. It goes without saying, you will have excellent communication skills both oral and written, be accurate with a strong focus on attention to detail and thrive in a busy / challenging environment., Experience as an Estimator in the construction/utilities industry, with ideally a strong background in Water/ waste water

  • Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered. ·

  • Manage your time effectively to meet tender deadlines.

  • Demonstrate excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Possess strong commercial awareness.

  • Have excellent attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy in tender preparation.

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
