Full Job Description

G-Research is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support financial decision making across the business.

Reporting into the Head of FP&A, this role will be instrumental in leading the commercial agenda for a key business unit. You will independently support decision making in a business unit, generating insight and identifying opportunities for productivity and investment. As such, this role will have exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Creating value by co-owning growth and resource allocation dynamics, being recognised as a leader beyond the finance function. Delivering strong financial management through disciplined execution in insightful reporting and planning as a partner to the function

  • Controlling the cost base through detailed knowledge of the numbers and drivers, and being the corporate enforcer when required alongside managing risk and opportunities

  • Operating the fundamentals with rigour

  • Managing monthly reporting, short- and long-term planning and roadmap strategy

  • Translating concepts into business cases

    We are looking for an experienced individual with demonstrable PQE who has a track record of partnering within organisations with a large tech infrastructure. You will have strong financial and commercial acumen.


  • You must be fluent in IT infrastructure, data, coding, software development or financial services and have strong stakeholder management skills. Experience of working within a software or IT engineering business or division will be preferable.

    As with any business partnering role, strong interpersonal skills are required.

    The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Excellent academics from a leading university

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Strong data analytics and presentation skills, with experience of OneStream, Alteryx and Tableau tools an advantage

  • An accounting qualification is preferable but not essential

  • High degree of integrity and ability to be trusted with privileged access to sensitive data.
