Working within the Motor Finance division of Close Brothers, this role has a broad remit across financial control, accounting and reporting activities.

The role holder will support the Financial Controller, working closely with the rest of the team to prepare monthly management accounts, compile regulatory reports, coordinate loan funding and deliver full and half year end statutory obligations, as well as undertaking reconciliations and other checks to ensure a strong control environment is maintained.

The successful candidate will join at an exciting time as we continue to ensure we are well positioned to be where the consumer chooses finance.,

  • Support preparation of monthly management accounts, to include closing down the lending system (on rotation), together with full and half year statutory accounts

  • Assist with regulatory reporting including challenging assumptions and verifying data sources

  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Contribute to tight financial control over the Balance Sheet and mitigate P&L risks

  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • accounting experience either in practice or industry

  • Ambitious with a drive to improve and progress within a supportive organisation / team

  • Ability to link business activities to Financial Control


  • IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
  • Knowledge or experience of working within Financial Services

  • SAP knowledge
