Full Job Description

An important new role where the candidate will help to support improving the efficiency of operations by advising managers about the financial implications of business decisions to aid growth and profit, preparing reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements.

Main Purpose of Role:

To help managers improve decisions and improving the efficiency of operations by advising managers about the financial implications of business decisions to aid growth and profit, preparing reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyse current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures

  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variance

  • Supervision of the Trainee Accountants

  • Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modelling tools

  • Quarterly and Monthly Financial reports

  • Implement and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports

  • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in marketing programs, pricing, npd as well as new projects

  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives

  • Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes

  • Supporting Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis

  • Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team

  • Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback

  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis

  • Any other ad-hoc duties when required by the business

  • Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of noncompliance immediately

  • Responsibility for taking reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions. You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times

    Ability to manage all aspects of the financial function and to achieve required outcomes within defined reporting timescales

  • Good people management skills to effectively organise work requirements of the financial team and to lead and motivate all members of the team

  • Effective operating style to support and influence profit performance through all areas of the business


  • Essential Skills:
  • To be able to work to a high level of accuracy, with good attention to detail

  • Previous experience of a leading a finance department

  • Reliable, trustworthy and honest by nature

  • Previous experience of accounting and payroll systems

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

  • Experience with creating financial statements

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills


  • Desirable:
  • Previous experience Sage Payroll 50 and SAP/ERP systems

  • Polite and professional telephone manner

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel

  • A team player with a pleasant and affable personality, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
