Full Job Description

Manage, supervise and oversee the Club's golf operation to provide the highest standards of excellence for customer enjoyment. Plan and coordinate a golf programme that is respected and enjoyed by the membership. Manage the Golf Pro Shop and related services to meet the needs of the members in a manner consistent with the objectives, strategies and policies set by The Club Company leadership team.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Designs, promotes and directs all golf-related activities and programmes, responsible for management of Club competitions in conjunction with the golf committee.


  • Responsible for achieving the green fee revenue targets as forecasted in the annual budgets; actively promotes casual and visitor green fee.


  • Organises charges and collect fees for all golf-related activities excluding events.


  • Responsible for achieving the targets related to the hire of golf buggies and trolleys whilst maintaining the required standards regarding the daily operation.


  • Responsible for the most efficient use of tee times, marshalling and the effectiveness of course usage including administration of the golf club annual members diary.


  • Recruits, trains and manages a diverse team comprised of Course Marshalls and Pro-Shop Assistants, Range Manager and hosts (where appropriate); aspires to lead, motivate and develop the team to achieve great customer service.


  • Accountable for the Golf Pro Shop operation, golf course and relevant team within the parameters of the annual operating budget; approves merchandise orders and supplies associated with golf activities.


  • Works with the Pro-Shop Assistant to maintain an adequate inventory of golf merchandise for retail sales.


  • Maintains management reports in sufficient detail to properly track where revenue is generated along with rounds played; provides daily accounting of the entire golf revenue stream and shop expenses to the Club Director/General Manager.


  • Implements and enforces the company's Health & Safety Policy relating to the course and observes safe working practices in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and fire regulations.


  • Works closely with the Event Sales Manager to plan, promote and organise all club-based and outside golf tournaments; ensures Golf Days are managed by appropriate team on the event.


  • Meets regularly with the Club Director/General Manager and the Course Manager to review the condition of the golf course and makes recommendations on areas requiring urgent attention. Attends management meetings and reports on all golf-related issues to the Club General Manager.


  • To ensure a high degree of personal presentation and hygiene in line with the company's dress and appearance policy.


  • To be a positive ambassador for the Company's CARE values at all times.


  • Responsible for supporting with Feed-It-Back in relation to the department


  • Duty Management shifts as and when required

    Experience as Golf Professional or Golf Operations Manager at a recognised golf club is desirable., Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
