Full Job Description

As a Quality Graduate you will learn how to apply Quality techniques to one of the most complex products in the world… a Nuclear Submarine. This will involve the use of advanced planning tools, supplier education, defect management and root cause analysis. A close working relationship with our Supply Chain, Build and Engineering functions will allow you to understand the challenges that suppliers may encounter during manufacture. You will work closely with the suppliers to ensure that all goods are delivered right first time, every time.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience the Submarine build process from contract placement to build delivery.

  • Work with other functions to build a diverse network of trusted colleagues.

  • Problem solve and engineer solutions in relation to the drive for Zero Defects, including the use of technology and Advanced Product Quality tools.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to the wider team on projects and investigations.

  • Understand and interpret what Supplier Quality is including the objective of the team, what they do and why it's important.

  • Ensure the various products and contracts conform to set quality and engineering standards

  • Work towards business milestones and having a direct influence on major activities to enable build and schedule to improve cost performance and right first time.

    As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in surveying related subject., As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Surveying related subject.

    BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate Programme for this role you will be required to attend your site 5 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
