Full Job Description

Reporting to the Off Trade Director, this is a pivotal role within the Off Trade Leadership Team driving the commercial and people agenda for the function. Leading a team of talented and wholly customer-focussed colleagues (Customer Controllers & Senior Customer Managers), and a further virtual team of Category Managers, Shopper Managers, and Finance and Demand Planners, you'll have plenty of scope to inspire, challenge and develop yourself and those around you, both functionally and culturally.

With the significant changes to consumer buying habits since the pandemic, and increased opportunities within the Off Trade channel, you'll have the opportunity to make your mark and guide (and develop) your team through change and challenge as we seek out innovative ways to gain profit and market share through channel initiatives and projects, while still offering our customers the insight and resources to keep them abreast of their competition too and allow for mutual value creation.

You'll be responsible for the multi-channel Trading, Category and Brand Building activity across the Sainsbury's, Asda & Morrison's customer groups, including Digital online platforms which will have a key part to play in our strategy going forward. You'll of course contribute to the creation and execution of the Off Trade strategy, having a bold input into both short and long-term plans which will drive commercial performance and Point of Purchase execution across all 'Routes to Market'.

    If you;
  • Are a confident, authentic communicator who is brave and commercial in your approach.

  • Possess sharp critical thinking skills to ensure accuracy and can identify and execute opportunities for improvement as well as understanding the business implications of decisions and processes.

  • Are an experienced People Manager with a strong record of innovative transformational leadership and a track record of driving commercial success through your teams.

  • Have a deep understanding of FMCG.
