Full Job Description

As an Group Accountant, you will be assisting the Senior Group Finance Manager with a number of financial tasks, some of which we have listed below;

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly consolidated financial reports for the Board

  • Assist the Group Finance team with the production of the Annual and Interim reports and IFRS accounts

  • Develop strong technical accounting knowledge to assist the Group Finance team in complex areas such as Share based payments and Acquisition and Disposal Accounting

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for UK and overseas entities

  • Assist with information requests relating to UK and overseas tax returns

  • Assist in the preparation of budget and forecast financial schedules and reports

  • Build strong relationships within the wider finance team and across Wilmington

  • Review of monthly accounts for the plc costs entity

  • Developing an understanding of Business Central accounting software and supporting continuous improvement in reporting financial information

  • Contributing to ad-hoc projects and responding to ad-hoc requests

    You already have some accountancy experience and are looking for an excellent opportunity to train to become a fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) through an Apprenticeship whilst gaining experience within a high profile FTSE listed group finance function. Here you will be able to gain strong IFRS accounting experience, FP&A, along with gaining an insight into a tax and treasury function., We know it's not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role's location by the start of their employment., A strong exam track record to date, demonstrating progression towards ACCA- Applied Skill level (or above) or ACA- professional level (or above)

  • Excellent numeracy and communication skills

  • Strong Excel and Word skills

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise and adhere to timetables

  • A commitment to becoming an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant

  • Strong attention to detail
